Security of supply Food security is a listed priority for the government and was recently highlighted by DEFRA. In 2022 the USA had an infant formula shortage, due to excessive reliance on a single supplier. As the only British based formula manufacturer, Kendal Nutricare offers an increased security of supply. Supporting local and sourcing sustainably Kendal Nutricare is the only manufacturer of infant milk formula in the UK, supporting local jobs, manufacturing and farming across the UK. Our milk is supplied by 220 Red Tractor farms from across Cumbria & Lancashire. As a factory based in the Lake District, our products travel a shorter distance and have a typically lower footprint than other brands of formula. Our own facility also runs on renewable biomass.
